To promote Battle of the Smithsonian, Fox partnered with McDonald's to make toys for their kid's meals. The toys were similar across the world, with a few differences, such as a different Octavius toy for European audiences.
Overview
These toys could be wound up, and once an included card was inserted into a slot on the toy, it would activate. This usually involved wheels spinning to make vehicles move.
- America: 8 toys (Moai, Able, Custer, Larry and Octopus, Amelia, Octavius and Squirrel, Einstein, Walking Rexy)[1]
- Europe: 7 toys (Moai, Able, Napoleon, Amelia, Octavius in Chariot, Einstein, Rexy with Bone)[2]
- Australia and Oceania: 10 toys (Moai, Able, Custer, Larry and Octopus, Amelia, Octavius and Squirrel, Einstein, Walking Rexy, Napoleon, Larry on Bike)[3]

Larry and Octopus
This toy has Larry in the tentacles of the giant octopus. To play with this toy, one needs to pull it back, then stick the card in to make it rocket forward, before it makes a u-turn.
- Card Transcription:
- "In the movie, Larry is an inventor, and is famous for developing the glow in the dark flashlight! The museum gives him lots of ideas and inspiration for new inventions."
- "When Larry hears his museum friends are in trouble he's willing to drop everything and do whatever it takes to help them."
- "Did you know Larry can speak Capuchin? That's "monkey-speak" for all of you!"

Custer

Overview
This toy has Custer on the motorcycle. Pull the cycle back until it locks, and insert the card to make it drive forward.
- Card Transcription:
- "In the movie, Custer's battle strategy is, "I will proudly announce we are not going to attack. And then... we will attack! Any questions?"
- "Ever hear of Custer's Last Stand? It was named after George Armstrong Custer, who lead [sic] his troops into battle at Little Bighorn in 1876."
- "If you go to Big Horn County in Montana, you can visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument."

- "Amelia Earhart was a famous American aviation pioneer. For her solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean, Amelia became the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross medal."

Octavius
Overview

This toy has two versions available.
The American and Australian version has Octavius on the back of the squirrel, wearing all silver armor with only his face and fringe painted. This choice would be repeated by Burger King later in 2014 for their toys. When his card was inserted, the squirrel would hop around.
The European version has Octavius standing in a chariot, with a paint job of red and gold. His fringe is gold instead of red, and he has a wider body type. It is very visually similar to the color scheme and body type used in his animated design. When his card was inserted, the chariot would move forwards.
- Card Transcription:
- "In the movie, the Roman soldier, Octavius, battles a squirrel!"
- "The strip on top of a soldier's helmet was often made of real horse hair."
- "Back in ancient Rome, the average size of a group of soldiers in the Roman Legion was somewhere between 4,200 and 5,200 men. That's a lot of soldiers for Octavius to keep in step with!"

- Card Transcription:
- "In the movie, he would never admit it, but the Easter Island Head misses Larry when he's not around."
- "The real Easter Island is located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean and is part of the Polynesian triangle."
- "The amazing giant statues are called Moai (pronounced MOE-eye). There are 887 hand carved statues. The largest statue weighed 83 tons!"

Overview
This toy has Able in the Apollo spacecraft. When the card is inserted, he drives forward.
- Card Transcription:
- "In the movie, Able is always stealing the magical tablet from Larry!"
- This was present in the original script, but not in the final film.[4]
- "In 1959 a rhesus monkey named Able was launched from Cape Canaveral Florida, 300 miles into space."
- "At speeds of up to 10,000 miles per hour the flight took 15 minutes. Can you imagine what Able must have been thinking during this high-speed adventure?"

- "He is a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and was born about 65 million years ago! Even though he lives in a museum now, back then he lived in what is now western North America."
