"It's kind of how we pass the time."
This page is about a fanmade alternate universe (AU). Do not consider the subject of this page canon.
Camp Amaroid is an AU for Night at the Museum taking place at a summer camp somewhere in the United States in the 2000s. The camp has a lake, a mess hall, an archery range, a first aid tent, an arts and crafts building, a playground, and more. It also lets the Scouts do their wilderness retreats on the property.
"Amaroid" holds a double meaning: its definition, a bitter substance taken from a plant; and its anagram - "diorama", which the cabins are based on. At this time, only three exist, but there may be more added as the AU develops.
The rule regarding character design this AU is that every character that's in a cabin must wear their cabin's shirt and bandana. There are a myriad of ways to do so, so get creative!
Overview
The camp boards children from ages 8 to 16, providing them with ten weeks of summer fun. Three cabins are at the campsite: the Rowdy Romans, the Crazy Cowboys, and the Rambunctious Royals. These three teams complete weekly challenges to earn points, prizes, and eventually the Tablet of Triumph, the ultimate trophy of Amaroid excellence.
The Cowboys, the most hyperactive group on the campgrounds, are in the Blue cabin. They can never really keep their cabin clean, despite how their counselor Larry tries. The kiddos in the Red cabin, the Romans, love a good hike in the woods or a day at the lake. Unfortunately, their love of the outside makes them the hungriest lot - you just can't keep 'em all fed. The older kids and teens in the Purple cabin, the Royals, prefer indoor activities, like arts and crafts or baking. They won't say no to a mud run, though!
