This page is about a currently developing subject. Information may change or be updated quickly and at any time.
Genting SkyWorlds is a theme park in the Genting Highlands in Malaysia. Originally named 20th Century Fox World Malaysia, this theme park has rides based on many Fox properties, including a ride and gift shop for Night at the Museum, titled Night at the Museum: Midnight Mayhem.
So far, this is the only place known to actively distribute official merchandise of this franchise, including toys, apparel, stationery, and gift shop staples like mugs and magnets.
As of 2024, this ride is temporarily closed due to a fire that was started in June.[6] The ride is yet to return as of 6 November 2025.
Ride Information
In this ride, the visitor is being inducted into the Night Guards, guided by Larry. Using an "all-purpose fire extinguisher - a gift from Larry's friend Leonardo da Vinci",[3] the visitor begins with target practice on the Tablet of Ahkmenrah. Unfortunately, immediately after, Dexter steals Larry's keys and the Vikings steal the Tablet. Using the fire extinguisher, the visitor interacts with various exhibits, putting out fires, breaking up fights, and more.
Known numbered segments include:
- Opening the Gate (2a): Dexter unlocks the gate to the Neanderthals.
- The Conquest of Fire (2b): The visitor uses the extinguisher to put out the fire and stop the ice from melting.
- Easter Island (4): The visitor throws candy at the various figures to calm them down.
- Hungry Dinos (7): The visitor throws treats at Rexy and a few other dinosaur skeletons.
The technical manager was Cam Crossley, who worked on the ride while employed at Adirondack Studios.[1] Design was by IRMS Entertainment Design. Their site has been suspended, and their Facebook hasn't been updated since 2021,[2] so it is likely that the company went out of business. Prana Studios was the media studio that animated the interactive segments. 7 scenes were made, projected on 56 different screens.[3] The car used is designed by ETF, and is a trackless ride that uses light sensors to see where it needs to go. The car itself is the same model as used for Toy Story Mania.

Parade Float Concept Art
Found by pineapple-coffee on May 30, 2023. Located 200 pages into the Genting SkyWorlds forum on themeparx.com. It shows multiple parade float ideas, including Alien, Life of Pi, and Ice Age. There was also one planned for NatM!
In the top left corner, the original logo can be seen. Due to legal issues, the park was renamed before its official opening in 2022.
The drawings of Ahkmenrah, Jedediah, and Octavius were traced over from promotional materials for Secret of the Tomb. Larry, Teddy, and Sacagawea's drawings seem to be original.
